The Afterparty Reception at N.K. Hurst’s The Heirloom

Just a hop, skip, and a beat aways; we carried the party on over at The Heirlooms at N.K. Hurst. This is a newer event space that prides itself on modern events with all the vintage charm. They operate as a full service location meaning it effortlessly comes together to look its very best for your special evening. Jessica + Andrew’s people took full advantage of the open floor concept and danced the night away in this downtown Indy spot.

From the Bride

FAVORITE PART ABOUT PLANNING YOUR WEDDING: Probably when we were done with it? I sat for the California Bar Exam three weeks before our date, so we had a million things to do in the days leading up to our wedding. Thankfully, we agreed on almost everything, received a lot of help from family, and had outstanding and flexible vendors (like you!). To my surprise, I agonized a bit over the centerpiece arrangements. I couldn't stand the idea of paying for flowers that no one would notice—I wanted something fun. Erika from Rabble Flowers constructed such a cool Seussian dahlia moment, it was my favorite detail of the night.

HOW DID YOU LAND ON CHOOSING THE VENUE LOCATIONS? We were planning an Indianapolis wedding from California, so my mother and sister were gracious enough to visit the handful of venues that were still available when we started planning a few months out. We were drawn to historic venues with rich ties to the city, so the N.K. Hurst factory space and St. John's both resonated with us and luckily still had August availability!

CLEAREST MEMORY FROM YOUR WEDDING DAY: Right after the ceremony ended, Andrew and I drove with my brother to Shapiro's Delicatessen to pick up food for the group. We ordered at the deli counter in our wedding attire, and as we waited we were flooded with waves of warm congratulations (and a lucky $2 bill) from Shapiro's staff and strangers eating lunch. It was very charming.
