Tremaine + Aaron — A Vintage Inspired Indiana Statehouse Elopement

Eloping at the Indiana Statehouse

When Tremaine first reached out to me with the secret news of her + Aaron’s upcoming elopement, I just knew I had to be the one to document it. She shared how drawn she was to the vintage feel of polaroid photography as well as the candid approach I take when capturing weddings.

They landed on the Indiana Statehouse as the perfect spot for their saying I do. Getting married within the state’s capital building can be a stress free experience as long as you go in knowing a couple of things. First, being familiar with their public hours will help plan accordingly so that you can utilize the space at no additional charge for your small elopement party. Second, understanding the process of entering the building itself it a must! Parking is street based and you will have to go through some security screening to get inside. All very much worth it though!

Being right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis also has its perks - for this trio that perk meant walking to the nearby starbucks for a quick cake pop treat.

If you're looking for a unique and memorable wedding experience, consider eloping at the Indiana Statehouse. With its rich history and stunning architecture, it provides a breathtaking backdrop for your special day.

Incorporating Those Vintage Vibes

This lovely bride had a vision of bringing a vintage aesthetic to their elopement. She did so by thoughtfully choosing her bridal details, renting a beautiful old car, and having me document a portion of their day on instant film. I always support adding more film coverage to days as special as these; and polaroids make for a great go-to option!

The cherry on top of this dream was ending the elopement at a fast food chain we all know and love, Mcdonald’s. Tremaine originally was on the hunt for some ground level golden arches, but everything within the city limits seemed to have been updated with the more modern designs. We still made the best of it and captured some cozy shots before they enjoyed a quick celebratory meal (something their little man had been waiting for all morning, haha).
